Steve Klein is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from U.C. Berkeley. He received an M.A. from the Eastman School of Music and was a member of the renowned Eastman Wind Ensemble, and did graduate work in musicology and performance at U.S.C. where he studied with Tommy Johnson. He is a teacher and clinician and has been the instructor of tuba and euphonium at Pomona College for more than 25 years.

Les Compton has been a member of the CSO for more than 30 years where he shares the principal cellist's desk. His background includes studies with San Diego area cellists Edward Clay and Paul Anderson, the latter an early student of Janos Starker. He is an active community member in local string ensembles. He is a graduate of Stanford University and has his doctorate from the University of California. He is a scientist at Cal Tech/JPL.

Jacqueline Stong has been a member of the CSO for over 20 years. She is currently the principal oboist with both the Claremont and La Mirada Symphonies. She is a member of the tuesday Musicale of Pasadena and Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity. This is her fourth appearance as soloist for the Claremont Symphony.

Ron Widner joined the Claremont Symphony in 1987. He has studied trumpet locally with James Linahon and Bob Rithaler. He is currently studying with David Washburn, Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. While living in New Jersey from 1992-1997, Ron played with the New Sussex Symphony and the Ridgewood Symphony.

Robert Sage's primary piano studies were with Lillian Steuber of U.S.C. where he received his D.M.A. in Piano. After graduation he studied with Harry Datyner of the Geneva Conservatory. He teaches at Azusa Pacific University and is music director for St. sJohn's Episcopal Church in La Verne. This appearance will complete his performance of the complete cycle of works by Rachmaninoff for piano and orchestra with the Claremont Symphony.
