What other things to bring with you

  • A FACE MASK WORN CORRECTLY OVER THE NOSE AND MOUTH. String players and percussionists, your mask must be worn at all times. Woodwinds and brass players, your mask must be worn whenever you are not actively playing music (arriving, during break, DURING LONG RESTS, as soon as rehearsal is over, etc.). No instrument covers are required.
  • A MUSIC STAND. Please don't forget this. We will be spaced 3-5 feet apart, so if you forget your stand, you won't be able to share anyone else's.
  • A PENCIL.
  • A BOTTLE OF WATER. (A water fountain is available, if you forget to bring water.)
  • All wind players: TOWELS/NEWSPAPERS/PUPPY PADS/ETC. to protect the floor from reed water, emptying spit valves, etc. The Temple Beth Israel rehearsal room is fully carpeted, and we CANNOT cause any damage.

COME EARLY!!!!

We have to verify the vaccination status of all musicians who are attending rehearsal for the first time, so there may be a line of musicians waiting to get in if you arrive at the last minute. Due to security practices at the Temple, the doors to the building will be locked at 7:30 p.m., so please arrive early and have all necessary documentation to make this process go as smoothly and quickly as possible. If you forget to bring your vaccination card, you will not be allowed in, as we will not be able to verify your vaccination status. No exceptions will be made to this rule. Keep in mind that the vaccination check is only for the first rehearsal; once your vaccination status has been verified, you do not need to go through this again for subsequent rehearsals.

Security at the Temple and How It May Affect Break Time

Due to security requirements at the Temple, the doors to the building will be locked at 7:30 p.m. AND WILL REMAIN LOCKED until 10:00 p.m. This means that, should you decide to step outside during break, someone will need to let you back in because the doors will lock behind you. We are not allowed to prop the doors open.

Missed Rehearsal Policy

If you have to miss a rehearsal, please contact your section leader as far in advance as possible, so that we can have an accurate head count for setting up each week. Do NOT come to rehearsal if you do not feel 100% well.
